Design notes

This landscape certificate is set like the program itself. A numbered Order of Exercises runs down the left, and a gold pointing hand marks row IV, the Valedictory Address, whose dotted leader carries on across the page as the line under the recipient's name in script. To the right sit the honor line, the award title, a short statement and four achievements; under the program come class rank, honors, issue date and credential ID, then two signatures and a QR code for verification. It suits high schools and middle schools that want a formal look in plum and gold.

About

Valedictorian Certificate Template, Programme Landscape

Commencement is the day the valedictorian is named in public: the printed program lists the valedictory address beside the graduate's name, and the school presents an award to record the honor. Principals and heads of school usually sign it, often with the class adviser or the registrar, and families frame it next to the diploma. Because the rank follows the school's own policy, the certificate should state the standard in the school's words, such as highest cumulative GPA or highest honors.

Wording on the template“For graduating first in the class with the highest academic standing of all its members, and for delivering the valedictory address, the farewell on behalf of the class, at the commencement exercises.”

Subject: Congratulations, valedictorian of the graduating class

Dear name,

Congratulations on being named valedictorian of your graduating class. This honor reflects years of steady work, curiosity and care for your classmates, and the whole school is proud of you. Your valedictorian certificate is ready: you can download it, print it for your family and share it online or with the colleges you apply to.

Thank you for representing your class with such dedication. We look forward to hearing your address at commencement.

With warm regards, Office of the Principal

Post for the recipient to share

I am honored to share that I was named valedictorian of my graduating class. It reflects years of early mornings, hard courses and a lot of help from my teachers, my classmates and my family. Giving the farewell address for my class was a moment I will not forget. Thank you to everyone who believed in me. #Valedictorian #Graduation

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
