A research certificate template gives a department a ready layout for honouring students who carried a project from question to result. Undergraduate research programs, summer research internships, honours projects and fellowships usually close with a poster session or symposium, and that is when faculty hand out a research award to the work that stood out.
A good certificate for research says more than "well done". It names the program and the organisation, says in a sentence what the student achieved, lists the methods and skills they used, and carries the duration, the issue date and the signature of the supervising faculty member. Students keep it for CVs, graduate school applications and scholarship files.
The designs here come as certificates in A4 and US Letter and as digital badges, so the same award can hang on a wall and sit on a professional profile.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Students who completed an independent project in an undergraduate research program, a summer research internship, an honours project or a fellowship, and whose work their supervisors or a judging panel rated the strongest of the cohort. Some programs give it to one student, others to every project that meets a set standard.
A one-sentence statement of what the student achieved, the methods or skills they used (for example literature review, research design and data analysis), the program and its length, and the date. Some departments add the project title, which helps a reader see what the award was for.
No. It recognises the paper at the event or in the program that gave the award. Publication in a journal is a separate process, so the certificate should name the event or program and not suggest more than it records.
Most often at the closing poster session, symposium or research showcase of the program, or at the department's end-of-year awards. Sending the digital copy on the same day lets students share it while the event is still fresh.
Both, where possible. The supervisor's signature speaks for the quality of the work itself, and the program director's signature confirms that the award comes from the program.
