Design notes

The poster is rebuilt here for an upright sheet rather than squeezed. A deep ink-blue banner holds the logo, the board number card, the name as the title, the program and the organisation. Below it, Abstract and Methods sit side by side, then a wide Findings row puts the bar chart beside the duration, level and output, and Supervision sets two signatures next to each other. The issue date, credential ID and a larger QR code for verification close the page.

About

Research Certificate Template, Poster Session Portrait

Universities and colleges often single out the strongest projects of a summer research cohort, an honours project or a research internship with a certificate of excellence. The student earned it by asking an original question, working through the reading, choosing a method that fits, handling the data with care and explaining the result clearly, whether in a poster session, a short talk or a written report. A tall page suits the portfolio sleeves, application files and department noticeboards where such records are kept.

Wording on the template“Awarded for excellence in independent research: framing an original question, designing and carrying out a sound method, and presenting clear, well-supported findings to an academic audience.”

Subject: name, your research excellence award is ready

Hi name,

Congratulations. Your project stood out this year, from the question you chose to the way you presented your findings, and the program has recognised it with a certificate of excellence in research.

Your certificate is ready to open. Download a copy to print, add it to your CV or graduate school applications, and share it on LinkedIn so your network can see the work you did.

Thank you for the care you put into your research, and well done.

Post for the recipient to share

I'm proud to receive a research excellence award from my undergraduate research program. Over the term I designed my own study, worked through the literature, collected and analysed the data, and presented the results at our poster session. Thank you to my supervisor for the guidance and the honest feedback along the way. #research #undergraduateresearch

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
