A food handler certificate template gives you a clear record for each person who finishes food handler training and passes its test. Restaurants, cafés, caterers, school and hospital kitchens, hospitality colleges and food safety trainers give one to new staff, volunteers and students before they start work with food, and again after a refresher. The designs come as certificates (A4 and US Letter) and as badges.

Like any good food safety certificate, a certificate for food handlers says what the course covered: personal hygiene, cross-contamination, time and temperature control, cleaning and sanitizing, and allergens. It shows the date of the assessment, a valid-until date when the course has a refresher, who signed it, and a credential ID that anyone can check with the QR code.

It is the training provider's own record. It does not take the place of a food handler card or permit that a local authority may ask for, so check the rules where the food is served.

FAQ

Questions, answered

The main ones are hand washing and personal hygiene, cross-contamination, time and temperature control, cleaning and sanitizing, and allergens. Add anything your course adds for the site, such as a cooling process or a cleaning rota, with the assessment date and who signed it.
