Bowling certificate templates and badges
3 free designs. A set is one design as a badge, a landscape or a portrait certificate, or all three.
Free for up to 20 recipients a year
A bowling certificate template gives a league, club or bowling centre a ready way to honour its best bowlers. Most are handed out at the end-of-season banquet: high game, high series, best average, most improved and the league champions. Youth programs, school teams and company leagues use them too, and so do tournament organisers for the winners of each division.
A good bowling award reads like the score sheet it comes from. It names the bowler, the league or event and the season, and it records the figures that earned it, such as a 279 game or a 198 average. A date and the signature of the league secretary or president finish it.
The designs here come as printable certificates in A4 and US Letter and as digital badges, so a bowler can frame the award and share it online.
Wording
What to write on a bowling certificate
Use these lines as they are, or as a start for your own. Every template comes with wording you can change in the studio.
Wording for a bowling league award
- “Awarded for the highest season average in the league.”
- “In recognition of the high game of the season, a 279 bowled on league night.”
- “Presented to the league champions for a season of steady strikes and clean frames.”
- “For the high three-game series of the season.”
Bowling tournament certificate wording
- “First place, singles division, at the annual club tournament.”
- “Awarded to the doubles champions for the best combined pinfall of the event.”
- “In recognition of a perfect 300 game bowled in tournament play.”
Lighter lines for youth and fun awards

- “Spare specialist of the year: no split left standing for long.”

FAQ
Questions, answered
The usual set is high game, high series and high average, often split into scratch and handicap and into men's and women's categories, plus the league champions and the most improved bowler. Many leagues add fun awards, such as most strikes in a row or best team name.
A scratch award is based on the actual pins knocked down. A handicap award adds pins to each bowler's score based on their average, so newer bowlers can compete with stronger ones. Say on the certificate which one it is, so the score makes sense.
The bowler's name, the score and what kind it is (game, three-game series or season average), the league or event, the date it was bowled and a signature. If you have them, add the number of games bowled and the format.
Either works. The league secretary keeps the scores, so a certificate signed by the secretary and the league president carries the most weight for league records. A bowling centre manager or league coordinator often presents awards for centre-run leagues and tournaments, and a coach or director signs youth awards.
Yes. In sanctioned leagues, the national bowling body may give its own award for scores such as a 300 game once the score is checked. A league or centre certificate is your own recognition, and you can give it at once, on the night.
