Design notes

This landscape design is drawn like an adjudicator's flow sheet. Speech columns run across the head of the page, one argument travels from column to column on pen arrows, and the deciding point is ringed in red in the last column. Below the flow sit the speaker's name, the event, a short statement, four skills, the format, rounds and level, signatures for the convenor and the chief adjudicator, and a foot cell that holds the date of issue and the credential ID beside a scannable QR. It suits organisers who want a sharp, exact record instead of a trophy-style page.

Debate Certificate Template, Flow Sheet Landscape

A debate competition sets two teams against each other on a motion. Each speaker builds the case, answers the other side and speaks to time, while a panel of adjudicators notes every argument and decides which team carried the round. Schools, debating societies, universities and youth programmes run these as league nights, inter-school tournaments and championship finals, and give a certificate to every speaker, with other titles for finalists, winners and best speakers.

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
