Nurse Appreciation certificate templates and badges
3 free designs. A set is one design as a badge, a landscape or a portrait certificate, or all three.
Free for up to 20 recipients a year
A nurse appreciation certificate template gives a hospital, clinic, care home or home health agency a quick way to thank nurses in writing. Most are handed out during Nurses Week, which in the United States runs from 6 to 12 May and ends on International Nurses Day, Florence Nightingale's birthday. Others mark a nurses week award, a nurse of the year award, or a note from a patient's family after a long stay.
Good recognition is specific. Name the nurse and the unit, say who is giving thanks (patients, families, the care team), and mention what they did: the calm on a hard night, the time taken to explain a discharge plan. A signature from the chief nursing officer or the nurse manager makes it count.
The designs come as certificates in A4 and US Letter and as digital badges that nurses can keep and share.

FAQ
Questions, answered
In the United States, National Nurses Week runs from 6 May to 12 May every year. The last day, 12 May, is Florence Nightingale's birthday and is also International Nurses Day, which nursing organisations around the world mark. Many hospitals give their certificates during that week.
Appreciation is broad: a hospital can thank every nurse on a unit during Nurses Week, or one nurse after a patient's nomination. Nurse of the year is one award a year, decided by a committee that reads nominations against criteria such as clinical practice, teamwork and mentoring. Use a separate design or title for it so it stays distinct.
Many units keep a short nomination card at the bedside or a form on the hospital website, and the patient experience team passes each one to the nurse manager. Quoting a line from the nomination in the certificate's statement shows the nurse exactly who noticed and why.
At a shift huddle or unit meeting, in front of the colleagues who work beside the nurse. Plan a second presentation for the night shift, or bring it to them, so nurses who work nights are not left out of daytime ceremonies.
Often, yes. Many hospitals' clinical ladder or professional advancement programs ask nurses to show recognition from patients and peers, and a dated certificate with a credential ID is easy to attach. Check your own program's rules for what it accepts.
