A sports award template gives schools, clubs and leagues a ready layout for the moment a season ends. PE departments use one after sports day and the annual awards assembly, junior clubs at their presentation night, and coaches for categories such as player of the year, most improved, top scorer or the fair play award. Sports awards for kids work best when every child who earned one gets a proper record, not only the winners.
A good sports award says who won, what they won and in which season, with a short line on what the athlete did to earn it. It is signed by the coach or head of sport, often with the principal or club chair. The designs come as certificates in A4 and US Letter and as digital badges, so the same award can be printed for the wall and shared online.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Common ones are player or athlete of the year, most improved, best team player, top scorer, coach's award and a fair play or sportsmanship award. Many schools also give a sports day award to each house or year group winner. Keep the list short enough that every award still means something.
Agree the criteria before the season starts, such as attendance, attitude at training and performance in matches, and keep short notes as the season goes. Many clubs let the coaching staff vote, and some add a team vote, so the choice does not rest on one person or one big game.
For younger children many schools give a participation certificate to everyone and a separate award to the winners in each category. The two should look different, so the winners' award still stands out while every child takes something home.
The athlete's name, the award or category, the sport or team, the season or year and one sentence on why they earned it, for example their attitude at training or a result in a final. Add the date and the signatures.
Often both. Many clubs and schools have perpetual trophies that the winner holds for a year and then hands back, so the certificate is the part the athlete keeps. A medal and a certificate together also work well for sports day winners.
