Design notes

The design keeps one line of a commencement program. A gold printer's fist, the pointing hand of old printed programs, points at a plum band that reads VALEDICTORIAN, set between two dotted program rows under ORDER OF EXERCISES, with FIRST IN THE CLASS at the foot, all inside a double plum rule on cream card. No class year is printed, so a school can send it every spring. It pairs with the landscape and portrait certificates of the same set.

About

Valedictorian Badge Template, Order of Exercises

The valedictorian is the graduating student with the highest academic standing in the class, chosen by the school's own rules: usually the cumulative grade point average across all years, often weighted for honors and advanced courses. The title carries a duty too, the valedictory address, the farewell spoken for the class at commencement. A badge lets the graduate show the honor on a college application portfolio, a personal site or a professional profile, linked back to the verified record.
