Design notes

The badge takes the security rosette from a printed bank draft: a bronze guilloché ring of interlaced bands around a deep teal disk. SCHOLARSHIP curves over the top, AWARDED sits in the centre, and FOR MERIT follows the lower edge. Under AWARDED runs a short MICR bar, the coded strip printed on every cheque, as the sign of a fund paid out. Its words stay clear at 120 pixels, so it reads in a feed or an email signature.
