Design notes

The portrait version reads the matrix down the page instead of across it. Below the logo, title and the name sits a printed table with SKILL, LEVEL and SIGNED OFF heads: one row per skill, a full green Harvey ball with the word Competent in a tinted level column, and a ticked Trainer entry beside it. The level key, three details for duration, delivery and assessment, two signed names with their roles, the date of issue, the record's ID and a verification code fill the lower half. The upright layout files neatly in a training folder or a personnel record and prints well on A4 or US Letter.

About

Certificate of Training Template, Skills Matrix Portrait

Sign-off is the step that turns attendance into proof. After the sessions, a trainer or assessor watches the learner apply each skill and records the level on the team's competency sheet. Employers, training companies and compliance teams then issue a certificate of training so the person, their manager and any auditor can see what was covered and who confirmed it.

Wording on the template“Attended every session of the program and was assessed as competent in each listed skill, through instructor-led sessions, guided practice and a final assessment, to the standard set by the trainer.”

Subject: name, your training is signed off: here is your certificate

Hi name,

Well done on finishing your training. Your trainer has signed off the program, and your certificate of training is now ready. It lists the skills you covered and the level you reached.

Open it to view it, download a copy to print for your file, or share the badge on LinkedIn. Keep the link handy: anyone you share it with can check it in one click.

Thank you for the time and effort you put in.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

This week I finished our professional training program and was signed off as competent in every skill on the list, from the core knowledge to the final practical assessment. Thanks to our trainers for the hands-on sessions and the patient feedback. Looking forward to putting it to work on the job. #ProfessionalDevelopment #Training

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
