Design notes

This landscape certificate shows the top of an acoustic guitar. Six strings run in from the left edge and divide the page, a herringbone soundhole rosette acts as the seal, and the strings end at a pin bridge on the right. The text column holds the organization, the title, the student's name in script, the program, the date, and a scannable code in the top right corner for checking the credential, with two signatures under the strings. The cream spruce grain suits beginners, teens and adult learners.

About

Guitar Certificate Template for Lessons and Recitals

Guitar academies, private teachers, community music programs and online courses recognise students who finish a level, learn open and barre chords, play a clean fingerpicking piece or perform a first solo. A printed certificate often ends up framed beside the music stand, so it should look like it belongs in a practice room.

Subject: Well played, name: your guitar certificate is here

Hi name,

Well done on finishing your guitar level. Every chord change, every slow practice run and every song you pushed through has paid off, and it shows in how you play.

Your certificate is ready. Open it to see it, download a copy to print and put on the wall by your guitar, or add it to your LinkedIn profile to share the news.

Keep playing, and see you at the next lesson.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

I finished my guitar course and earned my certificate today. A few months ago I could barely switch between two chords, and now I can play a full song from start to finish. Thank you to my teacher for the patience and the great tips. Time to learn the next one. #Guitar #LearningMusic

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.

Certificate

  • A full record: name, statement, skills, dates and signatures
  • Printed and framed, or kept as a PDF
  • Opens to a page anyone can verify

Digital badge

  • A small image people put on LinkedIn and in email signatures
  • Carries the verified details inside it (Open Badges 2.0)
  • One click shows who earned it and who issued it
