Design notes

The portrait version is drawn as a wall-calendar page. The name sits where the month would go, with the program beneath it, and a full-width grid shows four weeks of crossed-off weekdays with the closing showcase ringed. Under it come the statement, the modules, a row of details with the issue date and credential ID, two signatures and a QR code to verify. The tall format fits a student portfolio, a university application folder or a frame.

Many students spend part of the break at a summer school: a short, structured course of a few weeks with a timetable, teaching staff and set work. Pre-university programs prepare school leavers for degree study, international summer schools bring students to a campus for a subject course, and schools use the weeks to strengthen mathematics, writing or science. Attendance is usually taken each day, so a completion certificate says that the student kept up with the full timetable and finished the final assessment.

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
