Design notes

The tall page puts the full title stack at the top: organisation, the recipient's name, the program and a short statement. Below it the charcoal tourniquet band runs across the page with the windlass in its orange clip, and a long white TIME strap drops from it with the issue date, valid-until date, credential ID and the QR code. Skills practised sit in a column at the left, program details at the right, and two signers sign underneath.

About

Stop the Bleed Certificate Template, Windlass Portrait

Choose a portrait certificate when the record goes into a binder, a personnel file or a frame next to other safety cards. It fits a bleeding control class taught by a school nurse, an employer's safety team, a volunteer fire service or an independent instructor, given after the learner has practised direct pressure, wound packing and tourniquet use on a trainer. Because skills fade, many issuers set a valid-until date and invite people back for a refresher.

Wording on the template“has completed hands-on Stop the Bleed training and shown, on a trainer, that they can recognize life-threatening bleeding and act quickly and with confidence to control it until professional help arrives.”

Subject: name, your bleeding control training certificate is here

Hi name,

Thank you for joining our bleeding control class and for practising every step on the trainers, from firm pressure to the tourniquet. You are now one of the people around you who knows what to do in the first minutes after a serious injury.

Your certificate is waiting for you. View it online, save a copy for your records or print it, and share it on LinkedIn if you like. Keep an eye on the valid-until date, and we will invite you back for a refresher.

With thanks, The training team

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

I spent part of this week in a hands-on bleeding control class with our safety team. We practised applying pressure, packing a wound on a trainer and putting on a tourniquet until it felt routine. I hope I never need it, but I am glad I now know what to do while help is on the way. Thank you to our instructors. #StopTheBleed #BleedingControl #FirstAid

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.
