Design notes

This landscape layout sets the chain of infection on the left as a flat ring of six labelled links, from infectious agent to susceptible host, with the mode of transmission link opened in blue and pointing at the course name. The record column holds the name, a short statement, six content areas, duration, the standard covered, renewal, issue and valid-until dates and the credential ID, with two signatures and a QR code along the foot. Its clinical navy palette suits hospitals, clinics, labs and training companies.

About

Bloodborne Pathogens Certificate, Infection Chain Landscape

Bloodborne pathogens training teaches workers who may be exposed to blood or body fluids to treat every sample as infectious and to act at once when an exposure happens. Employers, occupational health teams and safety training providers run it at hire and again each year; in the United States the OSHA bloodborne pathogens standard is the usual reference for what the session covers. The certificate is the dated record kept in the training file. The training provider remains the one who confirms that its course meets the rules it must follow.

Wording on the template“Trained to treat all human blood and body fluids as infectious, to use the controls and PPE that break the chain of infection, and to act at once on any exposure incident.”

Subject: name, your bloodborne pathogens training record is ready

Hi name,

Thank you for completing bloodborne pathogens training with us. The time you spent on exposure control, PPE and the steps after an incident helps keep you, your colleagues and the people you care for safer.

Your certificate and badge are ready. Open them to download a copy for your training file, print one for your records, or share the badge on LinkedIn. The certificate also shows the date your next refresher is due, so keep it handy.

Best regards, The training team

Post for the recipient to share

Completed my annual bloodborne pathogens training this week: transmission routes, the exposure control plan, PPE and what to do after an exposure. It is a short course, but it is part of how our team keeps patients and each other safe every day. Thanks to our trainers for a clear and practical session. #InfectionControl #WorkplaceSafety #Healthcare

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
