Design notes

This landscape version is drawn as the last sheet on a tabletop flip chart: a charcoal clamp bar with curled sheets and two pegs across the top, a dashed tear-off line, and a red marker swipe under the attendee's name. The left side holds the logo, the title, the name, a statement and the session; the right side keeps the trainer's 'Today we covered' recap with four blue ticks above a details table for duration, credits, format, level and language. Two signatures, the credential ID, the issue date and the QR code close the sheet. It suits workshops held in a meeting room or a training centre.

About

Training Session Certificate Template, Flip Chart Pad

A short instructor-led session (a two-hour safety briefing, a software walkthrough, a customer service workshop) still deserves a record. Training teams, HR departments, consultancies and professional bodies give a certificate of attendance at the end of the session, often with CPD hours that the attendee logs for their own development plan or a licence renewal.

Wording on the template“took part in the full instructor-led training session, practised each new skill in hands-on exercises with the group and joined the closing questions and answers with the trainer.”

Subject: name, thank you for attending: your training certificate

Hi name,

Thank you for joining today's training session and for taking part in the exercises and the questions at the end. Your certificate of attendance is ready, with the topics we covered, the session length and your CPD credits.

Open it to see it, download a copy to print for your training file, or add it to your LinkedIn profile. You can also forward it to your manager as proof of your development hours.

We hope to see you at the next session.

Hyperstack fills in each person’s name and link when it sends.

Post for the recipient to share

Spent the afternoon in a hands-on training session and came away with practical skills I can use at work tomorrow. Thank you to our trainer for keeping it lively and to everyone in the room for the good questions. Two more CPD hours logged. #ProfessionalDevelopment #Training #CPD

Recipients share it with one click from their credential page, with the badge attached.

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it on its side, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.

Certificate

  • A full record: name, statement, skills, dates and signatures
  • Printed and framed, or kept as a PDF
  • Opens to a page anyone can verify

Digital badge

  • A small image people put on LinkedIn and in email signatures
  • Carries the verified details inside it (Open Badges 2.0)
  • One click shows who earned it and who issued it
