Design notes

This portrait version is a taller card back, recomposed rather than stretched. A larger No. 1 emblem and the heading sit at the top, then the name and its green program tab, the season, category and issue date in one row, a full-width table of four highlights and the scouting report. The foot carries two autographs with their roles, the QR code and a hairline legal line. The upright shape fits a desk frame, a binder or a printed recognition board.

About

Rookie of the Year Award Certificate, Portrait Rookie Card

A strong first year deserves more than a mention in a meeting. Managers and people teams pick a rookie of the year from the employees who joined in the last twelve months, often with input from peers, and name the winner at an annual awards event or the first anniversary of the cohort. The award notes what the person did: a fast ramp-up, first-year goals met or exceeded, and a habit of learning and helping others. Leagues and clubs give the same honour to a debut-season player.

Wording on the template“Took ownership of real work from the first month, asked the questions that made the team sharper, and became the colleague people seek out: a newcomer who already plays like a veteran.”

Post for the recipient to share

A year ago I was the new person learning where everything was. Today I was named Rookie of the Year, and I am grateful to the team who answered all my questions and trusted me with real work from the start. Thank you to my manager and colleagues for a great first year. On to year two. #RookieOfTheYear #FirstYear #EmployeeRecognition

Printing

Printing it well

Print at actual size

Choose “Actual size” or 100% in the print dialog, not “Fit to page”, so the margins and the QR code keep their size.

Use card, not paper

A matte or silk card of 200–300 gsm (about 80–110 lb cover) feels like an award and does not curl in a frame.

Frame it

A4 fits a standard 21 × 29.7 cm frame; US Letter fits an 8.5 × 11 in frame, or an 11 × 14 in frame with a mat. Hang it upright, as designed.

Mind the edges

Most home printers leave a thin white border. For a design that runs to the edge, use a print shop or your printer’s borderless setting.

Certificate or badge?

Send both. They do different jobs.
